Stephen Buntrock was part of the Broadway revivial cast of Rodgers and Hammerstein's classic musical, Oklahoma!, throughout its entire run, which began on Feb. 23, 2002 and ended exactly a year later on Feb. 23, 2003. During the final months of the run, Stephen starred in the leading role of Curly. Initially, he had been cast in the ensemble and as the primary cover for original leading man Patrick Wilson as Curly. In late Septermber 2002, audiences at the Gerwshin theatre were treated to a preview of his performance as Curly when Stephen performed the role for an entire week while Mr. Wilson was on vacation. Stephen assumed the leading role full time starting on Nov. 19, 2002. Also featured in the Oklahoma! cast were Josefina Gabrielle and Amy Bodnar as Laurey, Andrea Martin and Patty Duke as Aunt Eller, Shuler Hensley and Merwin Foard as Jud Fry, Justin Bohon as Will Parker, and Jessica Boevers as Ado Annie.
