I'd been wanting to get 'serious' about having a web presence for some time- I realized the free web servers I was using just didn't cut it anymore for the functionality and professionalism I desired. However, it took me some time to decide on a name that 1) was still available and 2) clicked with me. Although this site is not strictly about theatre, theatre has been a big part of my life and I wanted a name that would allow me to present my pages with a theatre motif. As soon as I stumbled upon the idea for "TheatreFest", it felt right to me. I feel the name conveys a positive attitude and enthusiasm without sounding juvenile or silly (example: iluvtheatre.com). It also sounded down to earth, fun, and not at all stuffy- which is similar to how I view myself. Hopefully, the name is catchy and not difficult to remember. I hope it doesn't cause too much inconvenience as I move my already established pages over to their new home at TheatreFest.com. The lack of pop up ads, the centrality of keeping all my pages together, and the added features in my webhosting plan convinced me that establishing my own domain would be the best decision in the long run. -Faith, May 2000 Who's Who & What's What |

| LAURIE BEECHMAN (http://www.theatrefest.com/LaurieBeechman)- Laurie was a Broadway star of such shows as Cats and Les Miserables as well as a cabaret performer with 4 CD's to her credit. She was also an inspiration in her personal battle with Ovarian Cancer. Laurie passed away on March 8, 1998 and the site has subsequently evolved into a tribute to her remarkable life. The Laurie Beechman Website: A Celebration of a Life was the first site created by the webmaster in May 1996 and it remains the most popular. The redesigned version of the site debuted here on Aug 27, 2000. CLAUDIA BEECHMAN (http://www.theatrefest.com/ClaudiaBeechman)- Laurie's sister Claudia performs mainly in cabaret venues in the Philadelphia area. Visit her site for information on her wonderful CD, Souvenirs de Paris, which is full of French songs. The webmaster remains delighted to have been asked to design Souvenirs et Espoirs: The Claudia Beechman Website in early 1999. STEPHEN R. BUNTROCK (http://www.theatrefest.com/StephenBuntrock)- Stephen R. Buntrock has made a name for himself in the world of musical theatre by performing in Les Miserables (Enjolras, original Broadway 10th anniversary cast), Titanic (Barrett the stoker, Broadway) and Martin Guerre (Arnaud du Thil, U.S. tour). In what perhaps might be described as a fit of madness, the webmaster decided to create an unofficial site to pay tribute to his work. The idea may have been questionable, but the webmaster has been quite proud of the resulting site which debuted in Feb. 2000. LES MISÉRABLES (http://www.broadwaylesmis.com)
