Jane Eyre began previews at Broadway's Brooks Atkinson
Theatre (256 West 47th Street) on November 9 (postponed from Nov
7 and Nov 8) with an official opening on December 10 (postponed
from Dec 3). The show closed on Sunday June 10, 2001 after playing 210 performances
(including the special Actor's Fund performance) and 36 previews.
Buntrock played the featured role
of St. John Rivers, who was featured in the latter part of act 2,
as well as covering the lead role of Rochester, which he performed
3 times in early 2001: March 11, May 1 and May 3. Buntrock could also be spotted in 3 other ensemble
roles: a servant at Thornfield Hall, Mr Eshton- one of the society
friends of Rochester, and one of the ensemble who tell Jane's story.
